1. Description
Aluminum alloy sacrificial anodes are commonly used in storage tanks to prevent corrosion of metal structures. Storage tanks can be used to store a wide range of materials, including water, chemicals, and petroleum products, and are often subjected to harsh environments that can lead to corrosion. Corrosion can cause leaks, tank failure, and environmental contamination, which can be costly to repair.
2. Working Principle
Aluminum alloy sacrificial anodes work by providing a sacrificial metal that corrodes in place of the metal structure it is protecting. The aluminum alloy anodes are attached to the tank structure and, as they corrode, they release electrons that flow to the metal structure and prevent corrosion from occurring. By replacing the anodes periodically, the metal structure is protected from corrosion and has a longer service life.
