Application
A Vertical Anchor Capstan is a type of machinery used in marine and offshore operations for anchoring a vessel. The capstan is a vertically oriented winch that rotates a drum around which a cable or rope is wrapped. Vertical anchor capstans can be delivered with electric as well as hydraulic drives. The electric anchor capstan can be delivered with a one, two or three speed electric motor. The advantage of the infinite control of the capstan head can be achieved with hydraulic or frequency driven capstans. Vertical Anchor Capstans are available in a range of sizes and capacities, depending on the size of the vessel and the weight of the anchor. They can be powered by electric, hydraulic, or pneumatic motors, depending on the specific application and the power source available on the vessel.
