Single Quick Release Mooring Hook
Application:
A single quick release mooring hook, commonly referred to as a marine hook, is a device used in maritime operations to secure vessels to fixed structures such as docks, piers, or buoys. It is designed to provide a fast and efficient means of mooring and releasing ships, ensuring safety and ease of operation.
The hook consists of a robust, usually steel, framework that incorporates a locking mechanism and a release mechanism. It is typically mounted on a fixed structure, such as a quay wall or a dolphin, and is connected to the vessel via a mooring line or a chain.
The primary purpose of the mooring hook is to securely hold the vessel in place while allowing for a quick and controlled release when needed. This is crucial for various maritime operations, including ship loading and unloading, bunkering, repairs, and emergency situations.
To moor a vessel using a single quick release mooring hook, the ship's crew or harbor personnel maneuver the vessel close to the hook. The hook is then engaged with the vessel's mooring line or chain, ensuring a strong and secure connection. The locking mechanism is activated, preventing unintentional release and ensuring the vessel remains in place.
When it's time to release the vessel, such as during departure or an emergency situation, the release mechanism is activated. This mechanism typically involves a quick and straightforward action, allowing for rapid disengagement of the hook from the vessel's mooring line or chain. Once released, the vessel is free to move away from the mooring point.
Single quick release mooring hooks are designed to withstand high loads and challenging environmental conditions, such as strong currents, waves, and wind forces. They are engineered to provide reliable and efficient mooring solutions for a wide range of vessel sizes, from small boats to large commercial ships.
Main technical hook:
1. Operating force by handle: <150N;
2. Pull of hook body for one unit: 350-2500KN;
3. Quantity of hook body for one handle: 1 hook;
4. Swing angle of hook body in vertical: -5° to +45;
5. Swing angle of hook body in horizontal: -90° to +90°.
