Application
An electric combined anchor windlass is a piece of equipment used on boats and ships to raise and lower the anchor. It typically consists of an electric motor, a gearbox, a drum, and a gypsy, which is a rotating drum that grips the anchor chain. The windlass is mounted on the deck near the bow of the vessel. When the anchor is raised, the electric motor turns the gearbox, which in turn rotates the chain wheel and gypsy, pulling the anchor chain up and onto the deck. When the anchor is lowered, the process is reversed, with the chain being paid out through the gypsy and down into the water.
