Water Cooling Marine Air Compressor
Application
A water-cooled marine air compressor is a type of air compressor used on ships and other marine vessels that is cooled using seawater. Water cooling is an effective method of cooling the compressor, as it can handle high heat loads and is readily available on board marine vessels. The water-cooled marine air compressor typically consists of a compressor unit and a cooling unit. The compressor unit compresses air and delivers it to the system, while the cooling unit circulates seawater to cool the compressor.
The cooling unit typically consists of a seawater pump, a heat exchanger, and a discharge valve. The seawater pump draws seawater from outside the vessel and circulates it through the heat exchanger, where the heat generated by the compressor is transferred to the seawater. The discharge valve controls the flow of seawater through the system.
