    Application

    The rudder blade is the component of the marine rudder system that provides the steering force necessary to control the direction of a ship or boat. It is typically attached to the rudder stock, which allows it to pivot and turn the vessel in the desired direction. The marine rudder blade is the body that generates the force of the rudder and is made of wood or steel. Now, except for wooden sailboats, they are all made of steel, and most of them are welded into a hollow airfoil shape, and the connection with the rudder stock and rudder pin is made of cast steel. The marine rudder blade is generally composed of rudder plates, horizontal partitions and vertical partitions. In order to improve the water flow behind the propeller, some ships add a streamlined fairing cap to the ordinary streamlined rudder, which is called a fairing cap rudder.


    Rudder blade are classified in three ways. According to the position of the rotation axis: the rudder can be divided into the unbalanced rudder , semi-balanced rudder and balanced rudder . According to the connection type with the hull: the rudder blade can be divided into the suspended rudder, semi-suspended rudder, double-supported balanced rudder, and three-supported balanced rudder. According to the sectional shape of the rudder blade: the rudder blade can be divided into a flat rudder and balanced rudder.
