Marine Rudder Stock
Application
Marine rudder stock is a cylindrical shaft that extends from the rudder blade and passes through the hull of the vessel. It is an integral part of the rudder system and is responsible for transmitting the steering forces from the steering system to the rudder blade. The rudder stock is typically made of high-strength materials such as steel or stainless steel, which are able to withstand the bending and torsional stresses that are generated during steering. The diameter of the rudder stock is determined by the size and type of vessel, as well as the expected steering loads. It is used to bear and transmit the force acting on the rudder blade and the force exerted on the steering gear by the rudder. The upper part of the rudder stock is connected to the steering gear, and the lower part is connected to the rudder blade.
