Grade 3 Open Link Anchor Chain
Introduction:
Open link anchor chains is also called studless link anchor chain. In China, the grade 3 open link anchor chain also called BM3 anchor chain. Compared with stud link anchor chain, the open link anchor chain has the features of less weight, being suitable for larger shackles without end links. It should be noted that the open link anchor chain has lower strength compared with stud link anchor chain under same diameter condition.
Anchor Chain Factory:
An anchor chain factory is a manufacturing facility that produces anchor chains for marine vessels. Anchor chains are typically made from high-strength steel and are used to secure a vessel to the seabed when anchoring.
1. Raw material inspection. To check all raw material is qualified or not.
2. Cutting: Cut the full length steel rods to needed length, waiting for bending
3. Bending: Use bending machine to bend the steel rods to a U shape.
4. Welding: Heating the links to a high temperature, the steel rod is formed into chain links using specialized machinery. then welding the ends together.
5. Removing the burrs: remove the burrs, and keep the chain link clean and smooth.
6. Pressing stud: If the chain grade is U3, the stud will be welded in one end. If the chain grade is U2, the stud just be pressed.
7. Magnetic particle testing: Magnetic particle testing can be used to detect surface cracks or defects in the anchor chain. This involves applying a magnetic field to the chain and then dusting it with iron particles. Any surface cracks or defects will be highlighted by the iron particles.
8. Ultrasonic testing: Ultrasonic testing can be used to detect internal flaws or defects in the anchor chain. This can be done by using a special ultrasonic probe that is passed over the surface of the chain, which sends sound waves through the metal to detect any internal flaws.
9. Tension testing: Tension testing can be used to check the strength and integrity of the anchor chain. This involves applying a known load to the chain and measuring the resulting elongation or deformation. The test results can be used to determine the chain's load capacity and to identify any weak or damaged links.
Anchor chain factories may produce a range of chain sizes and grades to meet the needs of different vessels and applications. They may also provide custom fabrication services to meet specific customer requirements.
Anchor chain factories must adhere to strict quality control standards to ensure the safety and reliability of their products. They may be subject to certification and regulatory requirements to ensure that their products meet industry standards and regulations.
