The steel grade of the ship building plate is ABS grade E, which is equivalent with BVE, CCSE, NV E, GL-E, KRE, LRE, KE, RINA-E.ABS grade E steel is a kind of hot rolled general tensile strength steel. The ABS E grade steel plates have yield strength of 34,100 psi (235 MPa), and tensile strength of 58,000 - 75,500 psi (400-520 MPa). ABS steels come 4 grades in ordinary-strength steel for shipbuilding and grade E is the highest among them. It is noted that AB/EN is in normalized condition, while AB/E is in controlled condition. The ABS grade E shipbuilding steel plate is suitable for offshore platforms and hull fabrication.
