Application
A marine controllable pitch azimuth thruster is a type of propulsion system that combines the benefits of both a controllable pitch propeller and an azimuth thruster. It consists of an electric motor that powers a propeller or impeller, which is mounted on a movable pod or housing that can rotate 360 degrees around a vertical axis. The pitch of the blades of the propeller is also adjustable, which allows for fine control of the thrust and the vessel's speed. The controllable pitch feature allows the angle of the blades of the propeller to be adjusted in real-time, depending on the vessel's speed and the sea conditions, which improves the vessel's efficiency and reduces fuel consumption. The azimuth thruster feature provides excellent maneuverability and control for the vessel.
