    PTFE Envelope Gasket

    PTFE Envelope Gasket

    Description

PTFE Envelope Gasket, also known as PTFE clad gasket, is a kind of non-metallic gasket, which is generally composed of cladding layer and insert. Coating mainly plays a corrosion-resistant role, usually made of PTFE material. The insert (Filler) is a non-metallic sealing material with or without metal reinforcement, usually asbestos rubber plate, non-asbestos rubber plate, graphite composite plate and so on. According to the inner core structure, the gasket can be divided into V, U and L types. In the petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries, some containers, pipes and valves are connected. In order to ensure material cleaning, PTFE gaskets are often used for sealing.

Due to the structural reasons, the PTFE coated gasket is thinner and therefore easily ruptured during installation and use, causing corrosion of the core material penetrated into the embedded layer. Therefore, it is recommended to replace the gasket frequently or use a modified PTFE gasket or expanded PTFE gasket in the important sealing parts.

    Features

    1. Combines the different characteristics of the inner core material and the corrosion resistance of PTFE

    2. Low friction coefficient, easy to bond, easy to install and disassemble

    3. The product is clean and can be used for sealing parts that are not allowed to be contaminated by food, medicine, etc.

    4. Good compression resilience

    Structure

    Type A - Cut type

The cut-type coated gasket is an annular sheet of 0.8 to 1 mm thick which is turned by a Teflon tube, cut from the center of the outer thickness, and a core material is placed in the slit. The slit is opened to about 1.5 to 2 mm from the inner hole.

    Type B - machined type

Machined coated gaskets have an inner diameter that matches the inner diameter of the flange to prevent turbulence in the fluid at the flange. Since the machine is machined into a rectangular cross section, the gap after the core material is placed is smaller than that of the cut section, so the amount of internal air expansion is small and the sealing performance is good.

    Type C - folding type

Fold-type coated gasket, which is a strip-shaped polytetrafluoroethylene film with a thickness of 0.4-0.8 mm, which is heat-sealed by heat sealing method and wrapped in a U shape on the outer surface of the annular core material, which is easy to manufacture. Suitable for large flange seals.
