Hydraulic Windlass
Application
Hydraulic anchor windlasses offer several advantages over manual or electric windlasses, including higher lifting capacities, greater control over the speed and direction of the anchor chain, and greater reliability and durability. They are commonly used on larger vessels, such as cargo ships, tankers, and offshore drilling rigs. However, hydraulic anchor windlasses also require more maintenance and can be more complicated to install and repair than electric windlasses. They also require a separate hydraulic power system, which adds to the overall cost and complexity of the vessel's systems.
