Float Level Controller
General:
A float level controller is a device used to maintain and control the liquid level in a tank or vessel. It consists of a float, which is buoyant and floats on the surface of the liquid, and a control mechanism that responds to the position of the float to regulate the flow of liquid into or out of the tank.
The float is typically connected to a lever or arm, which in turn is connected to a valve or pump. As the liquid level changes, the float moves up or down, causing the lever to actuate the control mechanism. This control mechanism can be mechanical, pneumatic, or electronic, depending on the specific design of the float level controller.
When the liquid level drops below a certain set point, the float level controller initiates a signal to open a valve or activate a pump to replenish the liquid and bring the level back to the desired point. Conversely, when the liquid level rises above the set point, the float level controller triggers the control mechanism to close the valve or stop the pump, preventing overfilling or overflowing of the tank.
Float level controllers are commonly used in various industrial applications where accurate and reliable liquid level control is essential. They are found in industries such as chemical processing, oil and gas, water treatment, food and beverage, and many others. Float level controllers offer a relatively simple and cost-effective solution for maintaining liquid levels within specified ranges and ensuring optimal operation of processes or systems.
