The clamshells of electro-hydraulic grabs are opened and closed by hydraulic cylinders. The drive-unit for this is an electro-motor with hydraulic pump. Pump output flow can be controlled by hydraulic system pressure changes. When cylinder pressure up to rated value, pump flow will be zero and reduce pressure automatically, it will avoid temperature rise from overflow, so it can ensure grab continuously working. The drive-unit of the grab needs an electrical power-supply from the crane over a cable. The cable reel is the necessary accessory.
