D Type Rubber Fender
Description:
A D-type rubber fender is a type of fender commonly used in maritime applications to protect vessels and structures from collisions and impacts. It is designed to absorb and distribute the energy generated during such incidents, reducing damage to both the vessel and the infrastructure.
The D-type rubber fender derives its name from its distinctive "D" shape when viewed from the cross-section. It consists of a solid rubber body with a cylindrical hollow section in the middle, resembling the letter "D." The fender is typically made from high-quality natural or synthetic rubber compounds that possess excellent resilience and durability.
One of the key advantages of the D-type rubber fender is its ability to provide a large contact area between the fender and the vessel or structure. This expanded contact area helps distribute the impact forces more evenly, reducing the stress on any specific point and minimizing the potential for damage. The hollow section in the fender also allows for increased deflection, enabling it to absorb and dissipate a significant amount of energy.
D-type rubber fenders are available in various sizes, allowing for customization based on specific requirements and the magnitude of expected impacts. They are often installed along docks, quays, piers, and other waterfront structures to provide protection to berthing vessels, as well as to prevent damage to the structures themselves.
These fenders are typically mounted using chains, U-bolts, or other suitable attachment mechanisms. The installation configuration may vary depending on the application and the specific requirements of the location. Regular inspections and maintenance are important to ensure the fenders remain in optimal condition and provide effective protection over time.

Installation of D Type Rubber Fender:
Application:
D Type Rubber Fenders can be precurve, chamfer and drilled to aid installation at a relatively low cost and can also be cut length required. They provide an excellent barrier against damage from all sizes and shapes of vessels. They are ideal for smaller quays and wharves serving fishing boats, tugs, barges and other work craft.
1. Suitable reaction force, with higher energy absorption than cylindrical rubber fender.
2. Easily for installation.
3. Applicable for frame dock and ships due to the smaller bottom width.
Features:
1. Moderate reaction force and high capability of energy absorption
2. It is vigid in structure and in long service life.
3.It can be replaced easily.
