High-silicon cast iron anodes, chromium-containing high-silicon cast iron anodes, and ferrosilicon-containing alloys are the most widely used anti-corrosive materials. Since the abundant raw materials and low prices, they have become the main anode materials for cathodic protection since the 1950s. The ferrosilicon anode has good corrosion resistance because the anode surface can form a stable silicon dioxide film. Whether in seawater or fresh water, we recommend using chromium or chromium molybdenum to prevent chlorite corrosion.
Ferrosilicon anodes are widely used for cathodic protection of sea surface structures, buried pipes and cables. It is a low resistance, low power, low energy loss anode. Our ferrosilicon anodes are ASTM 518-86 (Class 3) compliant. This anode is cast by chill casting technology and has better quality and performance than sand casting.
