Application

Bulb rudder refers to a rudder equipped with a streamlined dome in the middle of the rudder blade facing the axis of the propeller. For fairing rudders, the dimensions of the fairing should match the propeller hub. The fairing rudder improves water flow behind the propeller, increasing thrust and reducing stern vibration. The bulb rudder is designed to reduce drag and turbulence as the water flows around it, improving the vessel's performance and maneuverability. The bulb or extension at the bottom of the rudder can be shaped in various ways to optimize the flow of water and reduce drag.
